Can you tell us about a project\u00a0you’re\u00a0particularly proud of?<\/h4>\n
Baseline Surveys’ credentials are best illustrated by where they have been. Their work on the Chevron Gorgon LNG Jetty at Barrow Island – a marine construction project undertaken by Leighton Contractors (now CPB Contractors) – remains one of the most technically complex marine survey projects carried out in Australian history.<\/p>\n
The jetty, stretching 2.1 kilometres into the ocean off WA’s Pilbara coast,\u00a0required\u00a0the precise placement of 52 concrete caissons at depths of up to 18 metres. The challenge: real-time wireless positioning data transmitted underwater, guiding each caisson into position with millimetre accuracy.<\/p>\n
“Only one of 52 caissons required repositioning. The level of accuracy, planning and execution from the survey team played a key role in achieving successful outcomes across the project.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

That same precision now drives Baseline’s work across WA’s resources sector. In mid-2026, the team completed a 7-kilometre dam lift on the perimeter of a 10-kilometre tailings storage facility – a technically demanding package requiring\u00a0meticulous zoned\u00a0fill control and conformance reporting. Simultaneously, they are mid-delivery on a second tailings dam build in Kalgoorlie and delivering survey works on a new overtaking lane on the Albany Highway.<\/p>\n
